Cygnet is a family business established by Sinéad Swan to meet a vital demand in the locality for the ever essential item of children’s shoes. Sinéad and her husband and three children live in Rathmines with the children attending local schools. She is passionate about providing a service that eases the pressure on the busy parents of today. You can get the new shoes job done when you’re on the way home from school, going to swimming lessons, getting your groceries, going to the cinema- with all the parking and facilities you and your family need.
Sinéad is also passionate about sourcing children’s shoes from quality, stylish brands- brands that specialise in the manufacture of children’s shoes - brands that spend time and money on the research and development of shoes that provide the best support for our children’s precious young feet.
Cygnet is very excited to introduce some stylish new brands to the Irish market - the exquisite French brands Pom D’Api and its sister brand Shoo Pom and the fashionable London brand Young Soles. Stocked side by side with these new brands will be the already known brands trusted by many parents and loved by many kids - Bobux, Geox, Clarks, Startrite, Saltwater Sandals, Garvalin, Lelli Kelly, Primigi, Lurchi and Agatha Ruiz de la Prada.
Sinéad has undertaken significant learning in the field under the tutelage of the UK Society of Shoefitters and has linked in with a well established Galway Children’s Shoe Shop for expert, practical fitting and measuring experience.
Your children’s feet will thankfully have to last them for many years and will take them on many adventures across the globe. Children’s feet are different to adult’s feet and, as they contain much more cartilage, they are shaped by the shoes they wear. Shoes that are too small and shoes that are too big will cause damage to the young, vulnerable foot, damage which is compounded by each successive ill-fitting shoe. Professional fitting and measuring when paired with a well designed shoe is the best thing for your precious children’s feet. A measuring gauge is only a guide - a starting point- and so much of the service is finding the right shoe for the little feet. A service that the Cygnet staff are expertly trained to provide.
Cygnet also stocks a small, carefully curated range of clothing. Sinéad is committed to sourcing practical, functional, quality clothing that is also beautiful and stylish. Cygnet will stock clothes that can be passed down from sibling to sibling and then on to their cousins. We are excited to introduce to Ireland the chic Parisian brand Hello Simone along with the well established Danish brand Molo and Question Everything Kids both of which Sinéad has been buying for her own children and relatives for over ten years. Cygnet inherently understands what it is to be a busy parent of young children. While you are getting the new shoes for your little ones, you can get the present for your new baby nephew or pick up a beautiful dress for your daughter’s birthday party, all under the one roof and all beautifully packaged and presented.
We hope you will find what you both need and love behind Cygnet’s doors.
